Verrone’s Obsidian (2011) is an orchid form worthy of obsession. The petals are darker than any other form I grow- dressed and ready for any black tie, avant-garde affair. The 2.5-3” flowers are borne in abundance on a 3’ plant that is suitable for border garden plantings as well as the dahlia garden. There are so many interesting ways this flower can be used in designs and I love it with peach tones!
