Lee’s Dragoneye Bonfire (2026) This unique anemone form dahlia has deep golden ray petals that flex downwards towards the stem and the tufted petals on top are gold with red on the back. The flowers top long green stems that are perfect for cutting and the more you cut, the more you get. This is also a variety that is good for the mixed garden as the 3’ tall plants don’t need much support if they are tipped.
Unlike dahlias with a ton of petals, anemone form dahlias can be cut when they are barely starting to open and will continue to open fully. You can even cut them in bud and they will open, but the flowers will be slightly smaller but the color remains.
