Dahlia Tater Hill Little Red

$25.00
sold out

Tater Hill Little Red is over 50 years old and has never seen cultivation outside of a tiny community on top of a North Caroline mountain outside of Boone.

The dahlia is over 50 years old, is not listed or described anywhere I have looked and the lady that so generously shared a start to them told me they just call it ‘little red’. I think it’s wonderful and I know it’s hardly because it’s been happy growing and blooming it’s heart out every year for more than 5 decades.

Since it never had a real name, I am calling it ‘Tater Hill Little Red’ for the area it originated and what the gardeners up there have always called it.

Tater Hill Little Red is also productive and I am so pleased to be able to offer tubers of her when the sale opens up Friday.

It is truly a Very Special dahlia!
