Lee’s Turmeric Tea (2023) dahlia has warm gold flowers that are 5” across at their fullest and top long, perfect stems on a 4.5- 5’ plant. I love this dahlia color and have been working on breeding an ideal soft-textured one because although I love the shades that Big Brother and Hamari Gold have, the flowers are a bit large to suit the needs of my florists. Big Brother’s tubers are difficult to handle without breaking their crazy skinny necks and half of the Hamari Gold’s tubers shrivel quickly. Out with the old and in with the new-especially when I have to consider the way tubers handle.
