Dahlia Bracken Sarah
Dahlia Bracken Sarah
Dahlia ‘Bracken Sarah’ (2007) is a gorgeous 6” soft yellow ball with occasional apricot washing on it’s slightly pointed petals. The 5’ plant produces excellent stems for cutting. Later blooming but worth the wait! Excellent!
Bracken Sarah typically produces tubers with fat necks- fat enough that it may be difficult for a novice eye to distinguish the neck but I assure it has a neck- as well as visible eyes that are located when they are divided.
I was a bit confused about who was who between Bracken Palomino and Bracken Sarah until I did some cross referencing- including the American Dahlia Society’s Classification Handbook. Side by side, Bracken Palomino is a shorter plant. Her peachy cantaloupe flowers are about 1” smaller than Bracken Sarah. I am infatuated with the entire Bracken dahlia family and now that I have three- Rose, Palomino, and Sarah- I need the rest! Top notch breeding!
